A premium double-storey villa in Changanacherry with a basement and swimming pool — designed for a client who wanted a residence that would stand apart in every detail of construction and finish.
The villa is set on a 20-cent plot with a carefully planned approach road and compound wall. The double-storey structure with a partial basement uses a post-and-beam frame for the upper floor to achieve clear spans in the living and dining areas without intermediate columns.
The swimming pool — 12m × 5m with a 1.5m depth — is constructed with gunite and finished with imported mosaic tiles. The pool deck uses natural stone with a brushed finish for slip resistance. A separate pump room and filtration unit are housed in a discreet enclosure adjacent to the boundary wall.
External finishing includes stone cladding on the ground-floor facade, aluminium composite panel bands at the first-floor level, and a flat roof with a sloped canopy over the entrance porch in polycarbonate sheeting. The landscaped garden features native tree planting, a pebble pathway, and concealed uplighting.
